My Story
About Harts of Teal
In 2020, Kimberly Airhart was 41 years old when she heard three words that changed her life: stage three cancer. She had never once heard the symptoms of ovarian cancer, not from a doctor, not from a poster, not from anyone.
She wasn’t alone in that gap. So in 2021, alongside her friend and fellow survivor Andrea Sisler, she founded Harts of Teal, a community driven, faith based nonprofit built by survivors, for survivors.
Andrea lost her battle with ovarian cancer in 2025. Her heart and her vision still guide every decision Harts of Teal makes.
Mission & Vision
Our Mission: Harts of Teal educates women about the signs of ovarian and gynecologic
cancer before diagnosis, and walks beside them and their families from diagnosis through
survivorship. We are a community driven, faith based nonprofit built on the belief that no woman should face this disease alone.
Our Vision: No woman should face ovarian or gynecologic cancer without a hand to hold.
Hospitals call us the moment she’s diagnosed. A survivor is already walking beside her
before she leaves the room. That’s the standard we’re setting in Georgia, and the one we
believe every woman, everywhere, deserves.
What Makes Us Different
Everything Harts of Teal does comes from lived experience. We are not guessing what women need, because we have lived it ourselves. Our programs, from Teal for Teachers to Blessing Bags to Teal Sister dinners, are created by survivors for survivors, and that personal connection builds trust with the women we serve and the partners who support us.
